"It had the same old picture with a man smoking Camel Lights. It showed an outdoor scene with a man smoking Camels. I saw the name 'Camel', and the man smoking a cigarette. I saw a package of Camels on the page. The ad said Camel Lights, low tar Camel taste. The impression that was brought out was a very macho-looking man smoking a Camel Cigarette. It's a man's cigarette. The main idea was that Camels are low in tar and good taste. I was thinking that it's the same ad again with a macho man smoking Camels – the good taste of Camels. What I particularly disliked was the image projected in the ad."
Japanese smoker of Marlboro cigarettes:
"It showed a truck in the background, and a man carrying a tire and smoking a cigarette. I saw •Camel – Where a man belongs.' The impression that was brought out was that Camels are for men. That was the main idea."
